a| The Game is a language-game in the form of a card game. Both sides of the cards look like the reverse side of regular cards, so the value of the cards and therefore the hierarchy in the game remains equivocal. We make up the rules of this game as we go along, which is iconic for what happens during a dialogue: both sides interact, trade words and intentions. Systems and rules are essential in the interpretation of meaning in context. The object is an enigma; the cards exclude the players from the hierarchy of the game. The players can play The Game only by shifting their attention towards the non-verbal codes of communication and towards the idea that we ‘make the rules as we go along’ (Wittgenstein).(provided by website artist)
