a| The first edition was published in London, probably in 1724, by John Barrett and William Smith. It differs in 2 details from this Walsh-edition: the title page: xii. Solos for a Violin "or Flute", and Geminiani's involvement was not mentioned. Besides that, the print of the music is a perfect copy.Francesco Geminiani's name was probably added for purely commercial reasons by the publisher. Apparently Mancini's sonatas were well received, as another reprint appeared in 1727. Presumably in 1724 Walsh published a re-issue: here too, the plates are the same as above, only the title-page is different, and there is no dedication.
