a| Heinrich Lindenborn was a Rhenish journalist, satirist and hymn writer.
500
a| Private Hymnbook first published In 1741, better known as 'Tochter Sion', influential in the following years and intended to compete with the Jesuits' Geistliches Psälterlein, which was common in the Rhineland at the time. While the hymn texts all came from Lindenborn's own pen, he engaged various composers for the settings. The work went through several editions, and some of its songs were included in other hymnals.
