a| The Florentine composer Giovanni Marco Rutini (1723-1797) trained at the Conservatorio della Pietà dei Turchini in Naples. He moved to Prague where he joined the group around Locatelli and composed sonatas for harpsichord (including this one?). He then went to Saint Petersburg, where he composed opere buffe on libretti by Goldoni and taught pianoforte to Catherine II. He returned to Florence in the early 1760s.
