a| Dirck Rafaelz Camphuysen (c. 1586-1627) was a poet and preacher. This collection of songs became widely used and has been printed in a variety of editions.

a| For each song there are two parts printed of the left page: a basic version (in smaller print) and an elaborate version with diminutions (in larger print), on the right page one finds the text with multiple verses.

a| Even though these two partbooks look very similar in many aspects, they have been added to the Koopman collection separately. The bassus-part had been in his collection for years already when Ton Koopman received the cantus-part as a present from his friend and former secretary Elsbeth Gransbergen. The bindings look very similar, so it seems likely that they have been bound by the same binder at about the same time.
