a| Bernardus Forckenberg, together with Henricus Welsing and Jacobus Omphalius, commissioned the anonymous book 'Officio hominis Christini', which defended the doctrines of Socinianism and advised the reader to join the Polish Socinians without delay. Socinianism is a Non-trinitarian Christian belief system named after the Italian theologians Lelio Sozzini (Latin: Laelius Socinus) and Fausto Sozzini (Latin: Faustus Socinus), which was developed among the Polish Brethren in the Polish Reformed Church during the 16th and 17th centuries. The Socinian booklet, defending Conrad Vorstius (1569-1622) a German-Dutch heterodox Remonstrant theologian, caused an uproar in Friesland. Even before the Frisian justice system could arrest the perpetrators, the three Vorstius-adepts made their way to Steinfurt.
