a| Juan (or Jean) Oliver Astorga (1733-1830) was a Spanish violinist, flautist and composer. He was one of the most important musicians of Spanish classicism, unfortunately now little known and studied. He led an itinerant life in various European cities and courts, which allowed him to get first-hand knowledge of the music being practised in the most cosmopolitan and advanced environments of his time, before his return to Spain.
