a| Copy belonged to Philipp Furtwängler (1800-1867) organ constructor and great uncle of the conductor Wilhelm Furtwängler , or to his sons Wilhelm (1829-1883) and Pius (1841-1910) who joined the organbuilding business "Philipp Furtwängler & Söhne". After Philipp's death in 1867, the company was continued by the sons, and became defunct after Wilhelm's death in 1883. Pius Furtwängler, whose progressive ideas about organ building differed markedly from his father's conservative ones, founded the company P. Furtwängler & Hammer with the organ builder Adolf Hammer in the same year.
