a| First edition of this curious and unusual work, in which the author, physician to the polish King Stanislas (Stanisław I Leszczyński 1677-1766) seeks to study the "influence of the passions" on the development of diseases: this is one of the first treatises on the subject, which was very popular at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th centuries. The author deals in particular with the effects of music and analyses the way in which singing and instruments can act on the passions
