a| George Buchanan was a Scottish humanist scolar. It was said of him that he wrote Latin as if it was his mother tongue. Buchanan was an important theological and political figure in 16th century Scotland (and Europe). He wrote his version of the Psalms while imprisoned in Portugal. Its complex publication history begins in the 1560s.

a| There is no publisher's name on the title page but the edition looks very similar to the study and commentary book that is bound with it. This is also by editor Nathan Chyträus and is published in the same year, by Christophorus Corvinus from Herborn, so it may be assumed that the first book was published there, too.
