a| The music collection from the family estate of the Eisenach bank employee Manfred Gorke (1897–1956) comprises 700 objects relating to the history of music in Saxony and Thuringia from the 17th to 19th century and contains several original manuscripts by Johann Sebastian Bach. The collection came to the public in 1929, was purchased by the City of Leipzig in 1935 and has been kept in the Leipzig Bach Archive since 1952.
