a| André Meyer was a French-American investment banker and an avid collector of art objects, music books and scores.After his death in 1979, the collection passed to his heirs and was divided. One part webt to the Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris and some sections appeared at auction. The present selection was retained by another inheritor and was sold at Sotheby's Paris in 2012.
