In the instructions to the bookbinders (f. 2+2 verso), Papebrochius explains that the 'Elucidatio' can be bound in three different ways. The first version only contains the 'Elucidatio' and the 'Synopsis', bound in one volume. Because several other works related to the discussion between Papebrochius and the carmelite order were being published at the same time, it was also possible to include 4 other editions, in which case, the 'Elucidatio' came first, followed by the 4 other editions and the 'Synopsis' at the end. Thirdly, if the client also bought the first two volumes of the 'Responsiones', the different parts of this third volume had to be distributed in a specific order over the two other volumes.
