Second part is a fragment from "Pasquin, from death returned: Or His Journey, Done in the Other World: Presented in a dialogue between him and Marforio. Translated from the Italian, increased and improved. Accompanied by several fine Copperplates.editied by Christiaan Karstensz, Amsterdam, 1677.The dialogue on death is held between two of the most famous statues of Roman antiquity: Pasquino, whose name always designated the satire, and Marforio, the best known statue, who was represented with the image of Neptune. There seems to exsist an English translation of this work entitled "Pasquin risen from the dead, or his own relation of a late voyage he made to the other world. London, 1674" .
"Kamer-spel, aen geen byzondere rym-maat gebonden", containing songs (60 folksongs)
Pook was a folk poet from the first half of the 18th century, who, in the spirit of Jan van Gijsen (1668-1722), rhymed the events of the day and took a very active part in the theatrical disputes of his time. - Permalink:
