With a beautiful and rare wooden portrait of the famous condottiere Giovanni de Medici (Giovanni delle Bande Nere) to whom the work is dedicated. Another dedication by Strozzi to Luigi Ardinghelli, bishop of Fossombrone. At the end, in the last, unnumbered papers, are the errors of the previous translation edited by Ludovico Domenichi. This is a valuable edition of Strozzi's vernacularisation that, due to the correctness of the text and the typographical layout, was chosen by Giolito, who reprinted it identical except for the title page in 1562. - Permalink:
