"Klara (Clara) von Synau. Ein Trauerspiel in 5 Aufzügen" by Christen Henrik Nielsen was published in 1797.
"Komplimenten und Wind, ein Lustspiel in vier Akten" by Christian Friedrich Bretzner was published in 1796.
Bretzner was one of the most popular German librettists and comedy poets at the end of the 18th century. He's famous for writing the libretto to a singspiel entitled "Belmont und Constanze, oder Die Entführung aus dem Serail", produced in Berlin and adapted in 1782 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Gottlieb Stephanie as" Die Entführung aus dem Serail". Bretzner's operetta had been composed by Johann André. Bretzner protested publicly in 1782 in the Leipziger Zeitung against the plagiarism by Mozart and his librettist Johann Gottlieb Stephanie the Younger, who reworked the text according to Mozart's ideas. One difference between the two works was that Bretzner made his end on a positive note, with Selim Bassa turning out to be Belmonte's father. Some of Bretzner's songs, such as Vivat Bacchus, became very well known through Mozart's interpretation. The fact that Bretzner published a German adaptation of Mozart's "Così fan tutte" in 1794, "Weibertreue oder die Mädchen sind von Flandern", is interpreted as a sign of reconciliation or even adoration of Mozart.
"Le Mari Coupable: Comedie En Trois Actes, En Prose" by Villeneuve was published in Paris in 1794.
Sophie Villeneuve borrowed her husband's name (François Du Plessy, 1755-1828?) and used several other names and pseudonyms to have her plays printed and performed.
Each play is preceded by an etching showing a specific scene from the play.
