12 pages of dialogue in the form of a pamphlet, on the content of the library of Johan de Witt, referring to the auction-catalogue published shortly after de Witt's assasination in 1672.
Last 2 pages are an index of 57 available pamplets, called 'blauwe Boekjes'. Pamphlets of this kind from the 16th-18th centuries in the Netherlands were called blauwboekjes (Blue papers) because of the cheap blue paper often used for the cover. These pamphlets had a limited size, and could be on a variety of subjects, often political or religious. They were intended to persuade (or taunt) opponents and recruit supporters.
Johan de Witt was born in Dordrecht (hence "Dortenaar" in the subtitle) and died in The Hague ("Hagenaar").
