The eight collections of Nouvelles poésies spirituelles et morales were published in Paris by Guillaume Desprez, Jean Desessartz, Philippe-Nicolas Lottin and Guichard from 1730 to 1737. This collection of more than four hundred spiritual parodies in French for voice and continuo, borrowed from seventy composers, was a great success in the 18th century, as shown by the reprints that were made.

Bass part has been numbered by Clerambault for the harpsichord and the theorbo (mentioned in the prefaces).
