Nota:
Conlin began his literary activity in 1705. By 1711 he had written his seven-volume 'Fool's World'. With moralising and entertaining intentions, human behaviour is caricatured and illustrated by "more than 200 amusing and ridiculous incidents", "which can be usefully employed not only by the priests on the cantzel / but also by every private citizen / among honest societies". The series was concluded in 1709 and 1711 with two volumes on foolish women entitled Der Christliche Welt-Weise Beweinet Die Thorheit Derer in diesem Buch beschriebener 25. Närrinnen.
Inspired by Abraham a Santa Clara (1644-1709) the famous Augustinian priest and court preacher in Vienna, and his book 'Wonderful Dream of a Great Nest of Fools' - 1703 (pub. 1710)
Contains beautiful, theatrical, rich and funny full-page anonymous engravings
