Editor of this Psalterium, Andreas Petricovius, was a lawyer, professor at the University of Krakow, doctor of philosophy and law, printer and publisher, royal secretary and servitor, Knight of the Golden Spur. The son of Andrzej the Elder, a Krakow printer and bookseller, from Piotrków, and Jadwiga née Prężyków. In 1604, he obtained a bachelor's degree in arts and philosophy at the University of Krakow, and continued his studies in Italy, France and Germany. After returning in 1615, he was delegated to Zamość to take the chair of logic at the Zamość Academy in 1620. After obtaining a doctorate in both laws at the University of Kraków, he went to Poznań, where he became rector and professor of law at the Lubrański College. A year later, after the death of his father, he returned to Kraków and entered the university's Law College. He took over his father's printing house, where he published over 230 legal (he had the exclusive right to print parliamentary constitutions), scientific and religious items.
