Wilhelm Langhans was German composer, educator and violinist. He emphatically pointed out the importance of music education, advocated "the equality of music with the other disciplines of high school education" (Das musikalische Urteil, 1872) and proposed a reform of higher musical education, for which he called for a university-like structure and an improvement in the situation of teachers
Jacobus (Jacques) Hartog (1837-1917) was a Dutch music educator
