- 39 manuscripts and some printed pamphlets by or about C. Zumbach von Coesveld, collected and written by J. T. Bodel Nijenhuis.
Conradus Zumbach von Coesfeld (1697-1780) was city doctor in Leiden. He published works on the Netherlands' struggle with the water, and collaborated on the development of a geometric sea instrument.
Nijenhuis was a Dutch publisher and map collector. He is the namesake of the very extensive Bodel Nijenhuis Collection (atlasses and maps) in the Leiden University Library.
The collector Bodel Nijenhuis compares Coesveld to J. Le Franq van Berkheij for his broad general knowledge and writings, and surprisingly many biographical details coincide. Very thorough biographical and bibliographical study.
