In addition to Racine, some of the occupants of 24, rue Visconti [Paris] had a certain reputation. Among them, the trompe l'oeil painter Jacques Poirier but also the composer Guy-Bernard Delapierre (whose professional name was Guy Bernard), known for his film music and a ballet, "Algues", staged at the Paris Opera. This "charming man", who gave concerts in his home on the first floor, was also the author of the book "L'Art de la Musique", an art critic and an Egyptologist.Guy-Bernard Delapierre had met Olivier Messiaen in German captivity at the end of 1940 and they met again in Paris in early 1943. Messiaen gave private composition lessons at his friend's home in Rue Visconti from autumn 1943 until 1947. In return, the host wrote several articles about the master in the post-war period, including "Souvenirs sur Olivier Messiaen" in 1945 in the Lausanne art journal "Formes et couleurs".
