'L'amor contrastato ossia La molinara' premiered in 1788 in Naples
The court oboist Franz Heinrich Ehrenfried worked for 44 years as a recognised musician in his field in the service of the Elector of Mainz or, after its dissolution, in Aschaffenburg. In addition, he played his role as a performing musician in opera, concert life and church music. There are numerous prints of his arrangements, mainly of operas. They offered the middle classes music for reliving stage works, for making music at home and for teaching purposes. The preference for the flute in these prints corresponds to the demand of the time.https://bmlo.de/e0942/A1#S5.3
