- Nota:
- During his lifetime, Gumpelzhaimer was best known for this 'Compendium musicæ', a method addressed to his students and enjoying thirteen editions up until 1681. The last edition revised by the author is the 8th, from 1625. It is inspired by the 'Compendiolum musicæ' published by Heinrich Faber in 1548 and its translation, which Gumpelzhaimer expanded with numerous musical examples.
