Essay about the book and the editions by Robert Fruin (1903): https://www.dbnl.org/tekst/frui001vers08_01/frui001vers08_01_0030.php. The publishers name, Jan Heindrikze, could be a pseudonym for Josua Van Der Straten, whose 1669 edition didn't sell as much because of another, more elaborate one in 1670 by Johannes Naeranus. Naeranus commented heavily on Van der Stratens edition; the Heindrikze edition also contains this commentary. This theory presents this edition as an attempt of Van der Straten to recycle a part of his earlier print.
The author of this book is unknown, although Robert Fruin suspects Johan de Haen (1563-1627), once pensionary of Haarlem, as the writer. - Permalink:
