Nota:
The Schleißheim Palace complex (near Munich) is one of the most important Baroque complexes in Germany and stretches for almost two kilometres. Schleißheim was originally the summer residence of the Bavarian electors. The extensive palace complex includes the Old Palace from the 17th century, the New Palace (18th century), the former Lustheim hunting lodge and the courtyard garden. Highlights include the Baroque grand staircase and the Great Gallery in the New Palace, the branch museums of the Bavarian National Museum (paintings, Meissen porcelain) and the impressively symmetrical gardens, which have remained almost unchanged to this day.
