- In 1833 King Ludwig I of Bavaria sent his Hofkapellmeister Johann Kaspar Aiblinger to Italy to acquire music. The collection he brought back is mainly sacred music from Rome. As 'Collectio Musicalis Maximilianea' it was added to the 'Königliche Hof- und Staatbibliothek' in Munich, right after Aiblingers return.
