Nota:
Heyndrickx started his university studies in law in Leuven 1892-93 and in May 1898 he organized the parties for the tenth anniversary of this student magazine. As a result, he published a two-volume student songbook containing 167 songs with keyboard accompaniment, a work of four years of hard work. These songs were either texts that had previously appeared in 'Ons Leven' or songs that had been written and set especially for this edition. The work includes 33 national songs, 35 mixtures, 26 student songs, 35 social and drinking songs and 38 love songs. He was the first to publish Flemish student songs and thus filled a gap among Flemish students. This edition was illustrated by Pieter Dierckx, who created an Art Nouveau style image for each section.
There is also an appendix to this edition with an introduction by Hugo Verriest, the history of the Student Song Book by Karel Heyndrickx himself and all song lyrics without the scores (see KTS1 H.04.032)
