Thirty years of friendship between two of the most important personalities in contemporary music. Massimo Mila, the internationally renowned musicologist and music critic, and Luigi Nono, the great Venetian composer, one of the greatest protagonists of 20th century music history. The correspondence between the two from 1952 to 1988, preserved at the Luigi Nono Archive Foundation in Venice and the Paul Sacher Foundation in Basel, traces the evolutionary path of a human and intellectual relationship of extraordinary intensity. A private experience, certainly, but one that continuously dialogues and intertwines with the most important cultural events of the second half of the 20th century, here illuminated by the privileged perspective of one who lived those events as a protagonist. Like an uninterrupted flow of words and thoughts, which are offered to us without filters or intermediation, in Nulla di oscuro tra noi the personalities of Mila and Nono emerge in all their complexity, set as they are in a context in constant movement, shaken by a thousand transformations and, also for this reason, punctually reconstructed in the curators' commentary.
